Eye Camp Resumed In Saidpur, Nilphamari

Prantic Unnayan Society (PRANTIC), Bangladesh has been conducting Eye Camps since 2021 to address the above working area. PRANTIC’S approach to Eyesight Restoration is mainly for the marginalized and displaced people suffering from eye sights. The project primarily started in 7 Upazila under 5 districts in the poverty prone areas of Bangladesh. By December 2023, PRANTIC conducted a total of 15 Eye Camps. performed 978 Cataract Surgery and 19 DCR surgery with follow-up surgery for 50 patients. In 2024, PRANTIC has a target to conduct 10 camps, 500, Cataract Surgery and 10 DCR surgery with 10 follow-up camps in the above geographic areas.
On May 4th, 2024 an Eye screening program/Eye Camp was organized by Prantic Unnayan Society in Saidpur Regional Office, funded by OBAT Canada. A total of 182 (male 61, female 121) eye patients were screened in the said camp. Out of which 55 cataract patients were identified. A total of 49 (male 12, female 37) cataract patients have been sent to Rangpur Community Eye Care Hospital for cataract surgery. This was the 1st eye camp organized out of 10 targets this year. Poor people were very happy to get such benefits.
