Project Title: Leaving No One Behind: Improving Skills and Economic Opportunities for the Host Community in Cox’s Bazar

PRISE is a joint effort of BRAC and Prantic Unnayan Society (PRANTIC).  This is an initiative for skill development of the adolescents living in the host community of Ukhiya and Taknaf, Cox’s Bazar. The targeted beneficiaries of the project are the dropped out adolescents from regular education, who will be provided with vocational training. This project will be implemented by PRANTIC as a sub-grantee while BRAC will extend its support as a technical partner and financial assistance from International Labor Organization (ILO). The first phase was done in a period from 28th April 2022 to 31st January 2023. The 2nd Project started with a theme “Leaving No One Behind: Improving Skills and Economic Opportunities for the Host Community in Cox’s Bazar from 26 November to 30 November 2024

Yesterday on 01 April 2024, Mr. Humayun Rashid, District Manager, BRAC visited Hnila Branch, Teknaf, Cox’s bazar to monitor skill development activites conducted by PRANTIC. He visited 4 specific trades as sample basis and identified some shortcomings in project implementation. He found that trainees are not using Aproans during work. PRANTIC assured him that all apraons would be districbuted soon. He expressed his satisfection on the progress. It is to be noted here that PRANTIC has enrolled a total of 200 dropped-out adolescents to develop skills in eight trades as per local market demand to create employment oppoftunity for them.
