PRANTIC Organized Follow-Up Event for the Cataract Patients in Saidpur

Since 2020, PRANTIC has successfully conducted 28 eye camps across 8 upazilas in the Rangpur Division—namely Nilphamari Sadar, Saidpur, and Domar under Nilphamari District; Rangpur Sadar and Badarganj under Rangpur District; and Dinajpur Sadar, Parbatipur, and Chirir Bandar under Dinajpur District. A total of 5,124 patients have attended these camps, resulting in 1,651 successful cataract surgeries and Dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) procedures for 28 patients. Additionally, 67 follow-up events have been organized, where 3,113 patients received advanced care and treatment.As part of this ongoing initiative, a follow-up program was held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the PRANTIC Regional Office in Chandnagar, Saidpur. The session reviewed the post-operative condition of 24 patients who had undergone cataract surgery on April 26, 2025. Alongside the follow-up, 23 new patients (Male: 8, Female: 13) received primary eye care. Among them, 12 cataract cases (Male: 5, Female: 7) were identified and referred to Rangpur Community Eye Care Hospital for further treatment.
